Sept 7, 2021, Los Alamitos, CA – Arkisys (https://www.arkisys.com), building the world's first robotic Space Outpost for Assembly, Integration and Resupply called The Port, has received a Letter of Support from the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (https://www.mbie.govt.nz). Arkisys will be working closely with the Innovative Partnerships programme in the Ministry, which is dedicated to helping research and development intensive businesses connect, collaborate and invest in New Zealand. The Port provides Arkisys and the New Zealand government with opportunities to collaborate on the continued advancement of space policy, strategy and research, including development of next generation space architectures for orbital and exploration logistics in New Zealand.

Arkisys is building the first advanced Space Outpost in LEO (https://www.arkisys.com/the-port) to provide multiple capabilities and services for a global customer base in space. The Port offers adaptive hardware and software interfaces, web and mobile-based interface ordering, and options for fast launch and data transport. Arkisys is developing an evolvable, scalable ecosystem which will get customers in space quickly to validate business and technical concepts, and expand their business to new platforms and revenue generation opportunities in space now and in future.

“Arkisys is excited to have the support of the New Zealand government as we grow internationally. We fully believe that New Zealand opens exceptional opportunities for us to collaboratively develop capabilities in design and manufacturing for space science and exploration, while expanding the innovation ecosystem in the region.” says Dan Lopez, Chief Financial and Strategy Officer at Arkisys.

“The Port would be a welcome addition to the aerospace sector in New Zealand, providing a range of potential services to support further growth. We are supportive of Arkisys’ aims to enable rapid iteration and development of equipment and make space more accessible. Our Innovative Partnerships programme will support Arkisys to explore opportunities in New Zealand, which could include hosting of payloads on the Port, leasing of on-board hardware and services, and in-orbit manufacturing and assembly.” says Iain Cossar, Acting General Manager of Science, Innovation and International at the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

Led by a renowned team of Space industry pioneers, Arkisys is building a fast, agile, incremental Space infrastructure platform to support specific customer needs today, with services to expand and create new markets tomorrow.
